Movie review

The film tells the story of two brothers. The younger one is a policeman willing to put his hands on the older one, whom he holds responsible for the death of his father. This second brother is a gangster who, after some time in jail, has decided to make amends. But the Chinese mafia, like all the others, does not want to lose its precious collaborator. A chess board is thus set up, in which the two brothers are at times in opposite camps, and at other times they come closer together. It is an excessively conventional script, which is detrimental to the film. It is in the action scenes, however, that Woo excels. When he shows the feverish cityscapes or films duels, he gives the measure of his talent. Double Target may not be a great film, but it confirms the impression left by Hard Target: Woo is a very strong stylist, perhaps the Sergio Leone of the 90s.
