Synopsis of the Movie
The mascot dolphin of Miami’s soccer team, the Miami Dolphins, is kidnapped. Ace Ventura, a crazy private detective who specializes in finding missing animals, takes over the case. It doesn’t take long and the players are kidnapped as well, including the weather star, Dan Marino, which makes the detective’s mission even more difficult. Alongside Melissa Robinson, a representative of the Dolphins, Ace gets closer to the culprits, but not before many rather ridiculous misadventures.
Movie review
Jim Carrey has dropped from the $450,000 salary he received for Ace Ventura – to a respectable $7 million, his fee after the success of The Maskara – an actor who is heavy on faces and mouths, but at least knows how to pick the right characters for his acting style. Director Chuck Russell saw him on TV and realized that only Carrey could be the Stanley lpkiss of The Maskara. He created a star. Ace Ventura is more modest, but not completely devoid of charm. Carrey is a detective who specializes in recovering missing animals. He is looking for a dolphin that is the mascot of a sports team. No dolphin, no victory. The fans and the players themselves get on his nerves. Carrey gesticulates and flashes a smile. The film, unlike his character, is no different.
