Movie review

DW Griffith was the inventor of cinematography, including the wide shot, the reverse shot and parallel editing. Everything happens in the movie. National Threat is where the director uses all these resources to tell a very complex story. It shows the humiliation and abasement of the southern states after their defeat in the Civil War and the death of Lincoln. For blacks… until the rise of the Ku Klus Klan. Correct. The movie defends the KKK’s desire to restore political power in America! That’s pretty political stuff that doesn’t help anyone these days (over time, the theme of the movie has been lost). The intensity of certain scenes, including the death of Mae Marsh and the escape of her captor, is undeniable. The same goes for the abundance of other characters and the genius of the entire team to whom the movie owes its debt.
